I am new to the staff at Christ Memorial but not new to the school! My husband, Jason, and I have a six year old daughter, Kristiana, who went to Christ Memorial for two years. Over this time, we fell in love with the staff, students and atmosphere of CMLS. We also have a two year old son, Desmond, who will be joining us in class this year! I have a love for educating young students and hold a dual certification in elementary and special education. My husband and I own a Chiropractic office in Malvern. While Jason was going to school in Georgia to get his doctorate, I taught 3rd/4th grade at a local elementary school. When we moved back to Pennsylvania, I always knew I wanted to get back to the classroom!
This year your little ones will also get to know Mrs. Clark! Lynne Clark is an absolute joy to be with and I am so happy to be working alongside her. She has been at Christ Memorial for many years. She is a warm and gentle soul, filled with God's love. I know we will make a perfect team to support, teach and love on your little ones.
Throughout the school year I would love to keep you updated with pictures of our days. I will add the email address you provided to our private classroom blog list. The link to our classroom blog will be emailed directly to you. Our blog address is: CMLSAdventures.blogspot.com. The only downfall of a private blog is that you must have a gmail account. If you do not have one you can create one for free. Please check the blog weekly for pictures, activities, reminders and updates on our calendar! On the first of the month I will send home a calendar with themed units, birthdays and special reminders. A copy of this calendar will also be updated to our classroom blog. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at KimberlyAKistler@gmail.com.
I am looking forward to an amazing year filled with learning through movement, music, stories and crafts. We will learn how to ask and answer questions from and to our peers and adults. We will be building self awareness and self confidence through dramatic play and gross motor movements. We will have so much fun while your littles feel safe and loved in an environment where they can take risks and have fun.
Dates to Remember in September:
Open House/Meet the Teachers - August 28th 9:30am-10:00am
First Day of School - September 4th Classroom Doors Open at 9:00am
Back to School Night - September 9th 7:00pm
Welcome Back Picnic - September 19th 5:30pm (Rain Date 9/26)
For the first day of school, please bring in the three things below:
- Backpack - Please make sure that the backpack can hold a 9 ½ x 11 ½ folder. We will do a lot of fun art projects that will be going home and we'd like the to be safety placed in a backpack for safe transit. Please label the inside top of their bookbag with their name written on masking tape so that their folder and school work goes into the correct bag.
- A Health Nut Free Snack - Each day your child will need a small, healthy, nut free snack. Please read labels carefully. We will have water to drink but they are welcome to bring their own sippy/water bottle. Please label their snack and place it in the snack basket when you come into the classroom.
- Extra Clothes - Please place a complete set of seasonally appropriate clothing (including underwear and socks) in a gallon ziploc bag, labeled with your child’s name. Each piece of the clothing should be labeled as well. You will want to check the bag periodically for weather changes and sizes. Extra pullups, diapers and wipes are helpful if your child is still working towards potty training.
***A Note about Drop Off/Pick Up*** It is best to give your child I quick good-bye. We realize transitions can be tough on everyone, but we are here to keep your child safe and loved!
I look forward to meeting you and your little ones on Wednesday, August 28th, 9:30am - 10:00am, for our classroom Open House! If you have any concerns or questions before we meet in person feel free to email me at KimberlyAKistler@gmail.com.
Blessings,
Kimberly Kistler
