Side note!! This week we started talking about emotions. We discussed understanding our own and others based on facial expressions. At home a great addition when you're reading books is pointing out or asking your child, "how is that character feeling?" See if they can answer! Throughout the book point as the stroy and emotions change, ask again! Eventually add in "they're feeling scared/sad, but why?" Start talking very simply about why the character feels a certain way. This is a great first step to asking open ended questions with your 2-3 year old which we will continue to do throughout the year!
